My first interest in Christian Science...

From the February 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My first interest in Christian Science came at a time when injustice in a business problem was attempted against me. I tried every other means, but to no avail. In desperation I went to a Christian Science practitioner, a lady whom I had formerly met and who had impressed me. She assured me that there was no cause for alarm, and took up work for me. In a very short time the case was exactly reversed, and I received a letter of apology for any worry that might have been caused me, with the assurance that I need fear no further interference.

Many blessings have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I am so grateful for the better understanding I have gained of God, as I have learned to know Him as Father-Mother, Love. It is so wonderful to know that He is ever with us, "a very present help in trouble." I am grateful for healings of longstanding ailments, which, have come to me through Christian Science treatment. My first two healings were of constipation of many years' standing and a case of weakness. I had not been able to climb stairs or walk any distance. In a very short time after accepting Christian Science I was completely healed of these troubles.

I am grateful that I am learning to know the unreality of death; grateful for all the literature, for membership in The Mother Church; for class instruction, and for the joy and peace that come into my life through the study of Christian Science.—
