Great gratitude prompts me to testify to the good which has come to me through Christian Science. I have found that this teaching is the guide to God, and I have come to understand the Bible passage, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
About eleven years ago I was suffering from a chronic internal trouble. I consulted a doctor, who said I could be healed only by an operation. Then I heard of Christian Science. Although I did not understand anything of this beautiful teaching, I was very soon healed through treatment by a practitioner. I was also healed almost instantaneously of pleurisy, high fever, coughing, pains in my side, and headaches.
One autumn I was fully prepared to go to Switzerland to my married daughter, who was expecting a baby, when, two days before my departure as I was doing some errands, I broke my right arm at the wrist. The whole arm pained excruciatingly, and I was obliged to hold it up with my other hand. A great sense of fear tried to tell me that now I should not be able to travel, but wonderfully enough I met a practitioner. I told her quickly and briefly what had occurred. She declared at once that, in reality, nothing had happened, for my life was in divine Mind, therefore it could not be injured; that I should not be afraid, and that I should certainly be able to travel. After this help I slept peacefully the whole night. I telephoned early the next morning and told the practitioner that I was still in pain and that my hand was still limp. After another treatment the pain left me, and quite suddenly I was able to lift my hand somewhat. An hour later it no longer hung limply. I was able to leave at the appointed time and was very happy about it. I was careful with the hand for another day or two; but when the baby arrived I was able to do even the laundry and help with all the other work.
