When I turned to Christian Science several years ago, I was very ill, both physically and mentally. Up to that time I had experienced much trouble. In May, 1927, I suffered from inflammation of the iris. In time it became so bad that I had only one sixth of my vision. The doctor told me that glaucoma had set in, and that I must have an operation.
At this time when I was so greatly depressed, a friend called my attention to Christian Science. However, I was not ready to take it up immediately, for I tried several other material means, but all of them failed to help me. Then, when the need was greatest, God was nearest to me. I turned to a practitioner who lovingly explained to me the truth about God and man; and the statement that God is Love and has not made sickness made me so happy that through a single Christian Science treatment I could soon see and was healed.
In the following years I have been freed of rheumatism, inflammation of the gall bladder, and unlovely qualities of character. Thus today I am a well and happy person. Also, I am grateful for the understanding that God is omnipotent and omnipresent. Great gratitude fills my thought for all experiences and blessings. I am grateful for all the blessed activities of this church, and it is my constant desire to prove my gratitude to God and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, by daily increasing consecration.—Wuppertal-Elberfeld, Germany.
