FOR twenty years I attended the Christian Science church, always turning to its teachings for help whenever anything serious presented itself, but I was a dormant student and church member. Finally there came a time when physical trouble —violent sick headaches, constipation, and painful internal hemorrhoids—did not yield readily to treatment. A faithful practitioner, discerning my need to be a more active student, aroused in me the desire to progress. The healing seemed slow, extending over a period of some twelve months; but I am grateful to say that it was complete, the false beliefs dropping away as my thought was purified. Today I am healthier and happier than ever before.
Fear of dental work was healed at a time when, having to have a wisdom tooth extracted, I asked help of a practitioner. No material aid of any kind was given, and although the tooth was decayed and had a crooked root, it came out easily and without pain.
Our two children have always attended the Christian Science Sunday School. They have been protected and have been healed of numerous ills, including measles, influenza, colds, and severe earache. At one time the little girl was to appear on a dance program. She had been suffering from influenza and it seemed a physical impossibility for her to appear, but before evening she was healed and was able to do better than ever before. For having a knowledge of this truth while the children were growing up, I am indeed grateful. It has lessened their fears, and has made them more obedient, truthful, and kind.
