IT is with a heart full of gratitude that I wish to acknowledge what Christian Science has done for me and mine. It was brought to my attention for the first time by a friend who had been leaving literature for my mother, who had been suffering from asthma for many years. My friend would always tell me, in a very sweet way, that it was not necessary for my mother to suffer. I was infuriated by such an idea, for blindly I believed the doctor's verdict, which stood for constant suffering and continuous hypodermics. However, after some study of Truth, I began to see the underlying mental causes of human illness and discords. That was over eight years ago, and since that time my mother has gradually improved, until at the present time she is no longer disturbed by her former trouble, although she is living in the climate which so-called material laws had forbidden. Our eldest daughter, who had been showing symptoms of the same trouble, has entirely overcome any such belief.
When our youngest child was born she had a serious difficulty, involving the proper functioning of the valves in the left side of her heart. The attending physician stated that the child could live only two hours longer. My husband immediately called a practitioner, who sent word to have no fear, for everything was all right. In a few days the child was entirely normal, and today is a very healthy child.
In our family an attack of gallstones was overcome almost immediately. A wonderful case of God's providing care was experienced during the recent depression. Through the untiring work of a practitioner, a business deception was uncovered in the corporation of which my husband was a member. A much better position appeared in an educational center, which made possible the higher education of our daughter, that otherwise would have been denied her, due to the critical state of our economic affairs.
