Christian Science was presented to me by a loving friend when I sent for her to come and explain it to me. I was in great despair, suffering from rheumatism for which several doctors said they could do no more. After her explanation I asked her if she knew how I could obtain help, and she told me she would send someone to me who would help me. She did, and I was healed. Since then Christian Science has been my only help for every discordant condition. This experience was so joyous to me that I wanted to know more of the truth that makes free. The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, has become indispensable to me. Through studying it earnestly I have recognized the truth that sickness is unreal, and that sickness as well as sin is healed through absolute reliance on infinite,ever-present Mind and the love of our Father-Mother God.
I am grateful for our faithful and loving practitioners, who help us to lift our thoughts to God, who is Love, and help to direct us in the right way. I have been healed of bilious headaches; severe burns, receiving instant relief from pain; a broken bone, absolutely healed in three days by mental means only; quinsy sore throat; and pneumonia, when I was seemingly passing on.
I am grateful for all our periodicals and for all of Mrs. Eddy's writings, which I am happy to possess; for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; and I am more grateful every year for class instruction. That "the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few," has been an inspiration to me to press on to gain more spiritual understanding and, in my daily living, to show my gratitude to God for our beloved Leader.— Inglewood, California.
