In November, 1932, I suffered...

From the June 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In November, 1932, I suffered severely with the fifth attack of stone in the kidney. I had been having these attacks about every two weeks, each one being more severe than the last one. This attack was so severe that the doctor said I should have to go to the hospital for an operation. I was considering this when the "still small voice" seemed to say to me, Are you going to submit to this or are you going to try Christian Science? At this time I was attending a Christian Science church, although I did not study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and could hardly be called a Scientist.

I went to the practitioner for treatment and forgot to tell her about the stone in the kidney. She gave me three treatments, with the result that both false conditions were completely destroyed. The practitioner asked me to study the first chapter of Genesis; and from careful study of this I gained an understanding of the spiritual creation as distinct from the material. The healing, for which I am very grateful, was complete and permanent.—
