Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science was brought...

From the August 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science was brought to my attention through a friend's healing of stomach trouble of long standing. About this time one of my children had a growth on the tongue. Two physicians said it must be removed by operating. Prompted by my friend's healing, we turned to Christian Science for help, and a practitioner lovingly took up the work. She lent me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, telling me to read it and also to have the child read it. This book, with the Bible, we read daily. After about three months' treatment the growth disappeared, the speech was not affected, and the child returned to school in excellent condition. This healing was a convincing proof of God's allness, and of the potency of Truth when applied as taught in Christian Science.

On one occasion when he was severely troubled with a lame back, my husband asked for help. Under Christian Science treatment he was quickly healed, and the trouble never returned. During the past twenty-five years we have experienced many healings: grief at the passing on of loved ones has been overcome; abscess, a seemingly serious condition, was completely healed; headache, scarlet fever, and neuralgia were healed instantaneuosly.

Early in the summer of 1925 I spent three weeks at the Christian Science Sanatorium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Since that time I have used neither tea nor coffee, and have had no desire for them. The loving-kindness, joy, and beauty expressed there remain with me and ever will. For the wonderful truth revealed by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her writings, for the many channels of good through which Christian Science is reaching mankind, I am grateful; also for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and for class instruction. My family are all students of Christian Science, members of The Mother Church, and active members of branch churches. My desire is daily to express love and gratitude.—
