"DIGNITY OF SOUL"

From the August 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To dedicate is to "devote . . . solemnly to a special use." In the following earnest words our beloved Leader dedicated to loyal Christian Scientists, in her book "Miscellaneous Writings," practical teachings which she herself had received from the Holy Spirit and had proved to be demonstrable Science:

To
Loyal Christian Scientists
In This And Every Land
I Lovingly Dedicate These Practical
Teachings
Indispensable To The Culture And
Achievements Which
Constitute The Success Of A Student
And Demonstrate The Ethics
Of Christian Science
Mary Baker Eddy

Wise students of Christian Science pore over these teachings; seek to assimilate them; strive to incorporate them into their own living. New spiritual fields, hitherto unexplored, have herein been opened to our gaze. As indicated in the Preface to "Miscellaneous Writings," our Leader — the great pioneer in the realm of divine metaphysics — accomplished tasks, fought battles, settled issues which enabled her to lift her readers "into light and liberty" and to call this book an "afterpiece of battle."
