The oft-repeated story of David and Goliath is so expressive in depicting the battle between Truth and error that to the student of Christian Science it is a constant source of inspiration.
Unsettled world conditions present problems that, to many, seem as fearful and unconquerable as did Goliath of Gath to the armies of Israel. But to the Christian Scientist these conditions should present only a challenge to be met "in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel," in the fearless spirit with which David went forth to meet the Philistine.
Evil has no abiding place, therefore no foothold in reality, and, consequently, no legitimate power to act. Further, evil, in whatever guise it may appear, is always nothing, and just in the proportion that we see it as nothing will it vanish from thought and experience.
