The revelation of Christian Science has interpreted for mankind the message which the angels of God have been voicing throughout the ages, the message which declares the perfect harmony of God and His heavenly kingdom—a state of perpetual joy, peace, and enduring bliss; a satisfying state of perfect consciousness.
Christ Jesus was so imbued with the spirit of Truth that his was a continuous effort to acquaint mankind with this glorious state of reality. His love for humanity was so large and so universal that he gave this loving command to his disciples: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." He clearly perceived that "every creature" had a desire to hear the good news. Thus he evidently was the first to realize that in due time there must be a universal means of communication whereby the good news could be preached to "every creature." In the time of Jesus the means for disseminating news and for the discussion of the items of interest to mankind were the assemblies of the people in the market places and in the synagogues; and the news was then spread abroad over the routes of travel employed by the merchants and tradespeople of those days.
Whenever thought has hungered for more enlightenment, it has been satisfied by an inflow of spiritual light, a nearer approach to the means and methods for universal progress.
