I want most humbly to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and for all mankind, and to tell of a recent healing.
I had an abscess in the colon, and recognized the condition as one that had been present many years before. The agony seemed intense from Monday until Friday, but I went about doing my usual work, trying to realize the unreality of the condition; but I could not overcome it. Friday was to be a very busy day, and I knew that the case had to be met, just as all evil is overcome through the power of Truth. Error screamed louder than ever before, and the pain was almost unendurable. I felt that was the time to crush it. A loved one was with me, doing her work to help me. With the understanding of the ever-available operation of spiritual law I drowned error's voice by a still louder declaration of the truths as given us by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health. On page 162 she says: "Christian Science acts as an alterative, neutralizing error with Truth. It changes the secretions, expels humors, dissolves tumors, relaxes rigid muscles, restores carious bones to soundness. The effect of this Science is to stir the human mind to a change of base, on which it may yield to the harmony of the divine Mind." I also repeated passages on page 423, and then and there the abscess passed from the system, and all was well. I was filled with a sense of deep, grateful humility for this beautiful operation of the divine law.
I have witnessed many healings, including those of abscesses, ulcers, sprained joints, hemorrhoids. I have seen insanity healed in two weeks and financial conditions of lack overcome when all seemed dark and chaotic.— New York, New York.
