NOW

From the December 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In our daily activities, including the discharge of responsibilities, a process is usually involved by which something is produced or some situation is arrived at, enabling us to say, "Now that is finished." This "now" of human individual completion or accomplishment is the result of having started and finished something.

The spiritual fact, however, is that there already exists as a divine and profound heritage that which needs no process nor time element to complete, and is not dependent upon human procedure or circumstances. It is the great sustaining truth, the eternal and unchangeable fact, that "now are we the sons of God," the Giver of every good and perfect gift; and that "now" is the time to realize our full and complete freedom from the false beliefs that would tend to separate us from our established God-given dominion over materiality.

Divine Mind reverses the tendencies and beliefs of the carnal or mortal mind. Everything real, genuine, and lasting, having been established for the welfare and progress of man, made in the image and likeness of God, is complete and intact. Truth is eternally available to bless and sustain man. Regardless of the confused beliefs of humanity, with their changes, uncertainties, and fears, the divine fact remains that man's eternal harmony in the kingdom of God is always at hand.
