DISCERNMENT

From the June 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Oh, lift the dimness from my eyes,
That more of loveliness I see;
May I discern the good that lies
In all the years that are to be.

And though a host, to my dismay,
Encamp around me, I desire
No mortal aid, but only pray
To see the chariots of fire.
