Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 182,) "The demands of God appeal to thought only."
When I glance back over the long years which have passed since the light of Christian Science illumined my formerly dark and sorrowful way, I can only pause in deep reverence before the infinite might and loving-kindness of our Father-Mother God. When I was led to Christian Science twenty years ago I was, according to human opinion, on the brink of the grave. Neither hospitals, sanatoriums, nor specialists, among whom were benevolent friends of mankind, could give me any more help. Over a period of time before Christian Science came into my life, I had lost my parents and seven grown sisters and brothers, all, according to the mortal belief of inherited disease. This merciless, material so-called law had lain on me like a heavy burden from childhood and had shadowed my path in life Christian Science thus found me.
Through earnest study of this Christ-teaching, discovered anew by Mrs. Eddy, I have been able to prove for myself that human concepts of heredity can be made null and void through the divine laws of Truth. Life, and Love. With this spiritual new birth I was able to obtain release from physical suffering. Whereas I had been of a melancholy disposition from youth, I now gained the inner freedom and harmony which spring from the spiritual peace that passes all understanding. God is the creator of all good, the only power, and unchangeable Love. I am deeply grateful that as a laborer in God's vineyard I may follow our Master, Christ Jesus, and also witness healings in others.— Hannover, Germany.
