Testimonies of Healing

With the Psalmist I, too, can say...

From the January 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

With the Psalmist I, too, can say, "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: . . . they are more than can be numbered."

In the autumn of 1897 my father was healed in Christian Science of diabetes, after physicians had given him only ninety days to live and frankly told him that there was nothing more that medical science could do for him. He received a complete healing through absent treatment and has never had a return of any of the symptoms.

I was the next member of the family to be healed in Christian Science, and this demonstration came through my mother's work only six weeks after she had begun the study of the textbook, Science and Health by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Doctors had told my parents that they would never be able to rear me, because I had a very serious stomach trouble. But one day while my mother was reading and pondering Mrs. Eddy's explanation of God, it clearly dawned upon her that God is the Father-Mother of all His children. With this realization she mentally placed me in the outstretched arms of Love, and I was instantaneously healed. A clear perception of God's divine power and presence overcame her human sense of responsibility and fear, and I was immediately restored to health and freedom.
