COMPLETENESS

From the August 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE is the complete and final revelation of Truth. We have in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and the other writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, a complete, understandable, and demonstrable statement of the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God. In "No and Yes" (p. 10) Mrs. Eddy writes: "The two largest words in the vocabulary of thought are 'Christian' and 'Science.' The former is the highest style of man; the latter reveals and interprets God and man; it aggregates, amplifies, unfolds, and expresses the ALL-God."

The only logical and satisfactory way for us to gain a demonstrable understanding of Christian Science is through the study of our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health.

In the Old Testament, we find the teachings of Moses, who proclaimed, "The Lord our God is one Lord." In the New Testament we find the teachings of Christ Jesus, which are applicable to every need of mankind. As they are understood, they may be applied in a practical way in every circumstance that arises in human experience. When the multitude came to Jesus, he healed their sick and gave them the spiritual sustenance of which they were in such great need; and when the evening came he also supplied them with food with which to satisfy their hunger. The physical need of the man with the withered hand was completely met. We read in Matthew, "It was restored whole, like as the other."
