In these days much is being said on subjects which pertain to bodily health, based upon the belief that body is physical and finite. Many current magazine articles and radio broadcasts deal with medication, hygiene, dietetics, and with psychotherapy. These articles and broadcasts are mainly predicated on the generally accepted belief that the so-called physical body is man, or is at least man's temporary dwelling place. It is well, therefore, that our thought should be turned in the direction of the truth about body, as it is revealed in Christian Science.
Mary Baker Eddy, on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," says: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." This infinite manifestation of divine Mind, the sum total of right, true, spiritual thoughts—the universal expression, image or idea, of Mind, Spirit, Soul—is the only real body. And, as the Apostle Paul said, "There is one body, and one Spirit." Thus it will be seen that, in reality, all have one body, just as all have one Spirit, Mind, or Principle. There is, therefore, no more basis for believing in the existence of many bodies than there is for believing that there are many minds.
However, mortals have been taught for ages that each one has his own body, separate from the one universal body, and that each body has its own mind, apart from the one infinite Mind. The actual fact is that all individuals consciously reflect, and, in that sense possess, the ideas that comprise the only body or infinite manifestation of Mind. This body is the universal expression of God, Spirit, the all-inclusive evidence of that which is. It furnishes the proof that God is, indeed, the All-in-all.
