Christian science has brought me many blessings, and I am deeply grateful for them all. The one I am most thankful for is the understanding which I am gaining of God as divine Principle, Life, Truth, and Love, and which I can demonstrate in my daily life.
I was in need of physical healing and a better understanding of God as Love. I had been taught to believe that God was the author of sin, sickness, disease, and death; also that the decree of medical doctors was final, and that when medicine failed death was inevitable. A practitioner was called, and a Christian Science treatment given. The textbook, Science and Health, was handed to me, open at page 127, where Mrs. Eddy says, "Christian Science reveals God, not as the author of sin, sickness, and death, but as divine Principle, Supreme Being, Mind, exempt from all evil." The truth changed my thought, bringing peace and harmony to a suffering physical sense and destroying a disease called renal colic, which medical science had failed to relieve after several years of doctoring. Hard corns on my feet disappeared; also the desire for strong drink and the cigarette habit were overcome and have never returned. This occurred over twenty years ago. I have been a student of Christian Science ever since and have depended solely on it for my every need.
I am especially thankful for the overcoming of false traits of disposition as well as physical ills. I will relate a few outstanding ones, with the thought of helping others. A difficulty with clammy hands and feet was healed through a better understanding of man's relationship to God as Father-Mother; also blood poisoning, stomach trouble, bowel disorder, piles, and other unpleasant disorders were overcome, proving to me that God is All-in-all, and that all things are possible to Him.
