I have long wished to express...

From the February 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I have long wished to express through our periodicals my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me.

Several years ago I had a beautiful healing of pneumonia with the aid of a practitioner. All our family have experienced many proofs of God's presence and power.

Once, when my son was quite small, he fell on a broken milk bottle and cut his leg to the bone. When I saw what had occurred, I declared, as we are taught in Science, "Accidents are unknown to God" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 424). I bathed the leg, which was bleeding badly, bandaged it, and dismissed it from my thought as best I could. The next day when I dressed his leg, there was no ugly gash as there had seemed to be, and it had begun to heal and knit together. In less than a week the bandage was removed.
