Each day I become more grateful for Christian Science and for Mary Baker Eddy, through whose loving foresight it was established.
Attendance in a Christian Science Sunday School has given me a stronger faith in good than I should otherwise have had, and I am happy that my children have this wonderful privilege and are learning to rely on God as their present help. They have been protected from or healed quickly of many diseases supposedly common to children.
The elder child, when quite small, fell from the top of some stairs, bumping his head on the cement floor beneath. A lump formed on his forehead which was very alarming to mortal sense, and the boy did not seem quite rational. When a practitioner was called, she explained to me that matter is unreal. When this new view of things was realized, the boy was instantly healed. He got out of his bed, where I had put him, and began again to play. The realization of the nothingness of matter came to my aid again more recently, when my youngest son pulled a cement flower box down from a porch onto his knee. It was so heavy that another boy had to remove it. I do not know what the injury was, except that there was a large swelling, but the knee became normal when the truth the practitioner had stated was recalled and held in thought.
