When one is baffled and perplexed by adverse circumstances, or waiting and drifting, it is helpful prayerfully to consider what is involved in true accomplishment. This may be a first step out of a state of inaction or bondage. Then one may joyfully claim right and satisfying accomplishment as possible, and, in reality, as already present.
The word "accomplishment" is defined in the dictionary, in part, as "completion." The temporary advantages which may be gained by mere personal astuteness, flattery, will power, or material force lack completeness. However skillfully done, what is built upon materiality has not the lasting beauty, safety, reality of true substance.
The engineer who cuts a path toward a definite goal does not work at haphazard. He knows the right direction, and adheres to the line. All worth-while advancement or accomplishment has a moral and spiritual value. For true success one does not depend on others; and no power exists which can keep one from realizing it. Achievement, the fruit of honesty, perseverance, and enlightened thinking, is individual; but because it follows the right line it will be found to benefit all, for true qualities are universal.
