What the Christian Scientist desires above all else is that he may be receptive to Truth. He prays with Solomon, "Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people." As he advances in his study of Christian Science, he realizes that he will gain understanding in the same way that he gains health and supply, by knowing that he already has it as his divine right, for he is the reflection of the infiniteness of Mind.
With spiritual receptivity comes the recognition of the Christ-consciousness—the divine nature that belongs to man as his inheritance.
What must the so-called human consciousness do to become receptive to Truth? Just one thing—cease to assert itself as an entity, so that it may cognize divine consciousness to be what it in reality is, the one and only real consciousness.
