At the beginning of the present...

From the June 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

At the beginning of the present war, I was five months finding a home and was inclined to be depressed about it. Every time I found a suitable flat, something would prevent me from taking it. Now I realize it was divine protection, because all those flats were either bombed or the buildings had to be evacuated because the windows were blown in. I finally found what I needed.

I have received many blessings through Christian Science since my first healing in 1914, when I was instantaneously healed of chronic inflammation of the bladder with complications. I had had twelve doctors, and each one had found it necessary to give me morphine injections, because nothing else seemed to relieve me of pain.

I find such comfort in all the Christian Science periodicals, especially The Christian Science Monitor, and in all Mrs. Eddy's writings, and also in the hymns.
