Since the testimonies of the healing power of Truth which I read in a copy of The Christian Science Journal were my first real contact with Christian Science, I have long felt that I should like to express gratitude through these pages for all that the truth, as revealed by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has brought to me.
From childhood I was in bondage to one or more physical ailments. Much time and money had been spent with physicians for nervous exhaustion and lack of blood content, and while I am grateful indeed for these men who work for humanity in their way, I am profoundly grateful to have found in God the true and great Physician.
In the spring of 1931, after I had spent months in pain, it was decided by those in charge that a major operation was necessary for the removal of a tumor. At that time I was told that a blood transfusion would be necessary, though I had been having treatment in this connection for over a year.
