The word "limitation" is a frequent one in our vocabulary just now, and, if not alert, we may be tempted to believe that our supply comes from material sources, and to forget that Jesus once said, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Through his knowledge of the nature of this kingdom the Master was able continuously to prove the superabundance of good.
Our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, never experienced lack, because he knew that the heavenly Father, who, in the words of Paul, "giveth us richly all things to enjoy," does not limit His children in any way. Through his understanding of man's inheritance as God's idea, Christ Jesus proved in every case that right where to material sense lack seemed to be, there was, and could only be, absolute abundance, the unmistakable evidence of our rich Father's tender and loving care.
Jesus did not prove this for himself and his immediate disciples alone, nor were his demonstrations intended solely for the enlightenment of the people of his time. He made it clear that his followers in all time to come were expected to do the works that he did, and that they were all privileged to draw on the infinite resources of the affluent Father, even as he did.
