In the face of graphic reports from the war areas, spiritual discernment is needed to meet the unreal picture of conflict with clearness of vision as taught in Christian Science. Apathy is a common enemy, which needs to be destroyed in the individual consciousness. Any perilous outlook is a form of mental suggestion, and turning to Christian Science for enlightenment overcomes fear and foreboding.
Truth is immutable, and does not change with varying world conditions. The divine Mind controls the universe, including man. This fact, discerned and maintained, removes fear of the possible defeat of right, even in the face of contrary material evidence. The denial of material evidence and the recognition of Mind's control win a victory over evil, through spirituality and love in the individual consciousness. So much of good is accomplished in these victories that this daily practice is of great importance. It is through the individual's conscious communion with God, infinite Mind, that the seeming effects of aggressive mental suggestion are conquered.
To realize the godlessness and so truthlessness of the enemy which is at war against freedom, justice, and the rights of men hastens the end of hostility. The healing thought must appear in the individual consciousness, as an expression of the divine Mind, that it may be manifested in a spiritual victory over evil.
