Before I became interested in Christian Science I thought I had much to be sad about and that my being sad would cause God to take pity on me and help me. But when I found Science I learned that God was and always had been present and ready to help, and that I needed only to accept this fact and rejoice in it. My whole life has been brightened through the assurance that divine Love is ever present to solve every problem and meet every need that may arise.
I was attracted to Christian Science by the beautiful example of my loving sister, who likewise saw the light shining in another Scientist's life. I am most grateful that I was privileged to enjoy seven years of inspiring and fruitful instruction in a Christian Science Sunday School under earnest and helpful teachers. The pupils were asked to apply the truths they had learned. Each Sunday they would bring new proofs of the healing power of Truth.
One such proof, in my case, was the healing of warts. They seemed so real to me when first I began studying Christian Science. But when a non-Scientist said, "If you are a Christian Scientist, you should not have warts," I accepted the challenge. I studied the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly more earnestly, and when I reached the point where I could unsee the condition, or in other words could realize the facts of my being and my relation to God so clearly that I no longer believed the existence of warts possible, they disappeared. In a similar way boils were overcome.
