I am happy to express my sincere...

From the April 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am happy to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science, which has met our every need for the past twelve years. I have been healed of broken arches that were so painful I had to wear bandages all the time. I was also healed in a few days of sciatic rheumatism simply through reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

One outstanding healing I received instantaneously was of an injury to the neck. I had been backing my car into the garage, and because it was just getting dark I did not see that workmen had left a ditch, several inches deep, just in front of the garage doors. As I backed in I was looking out of the car door, and when the car dropped into the ditch it gave my neck such a jerk that at once it became so painful I hardly remember how I got into the house.

I became so ill from the pain that my stomach was upset, and a member of my family, being unable to find out what had occurred, called a practitioner and told her he thought I had been poisoned by food. She said for me to think what man and God are. When he returned I was hardly conscious, and could only remember the words "God is Love," and then lost all sense of my surroundings. I came to myself from time to time, and then drifted away again. In a conscious moment I told this anxious member to try not to be too afraid, for God knew what I had need of, and to go and sit down. This he did, a little way from where I was lying. In a few moments there was a snapping sound, and he came to me at once. I got up, entirely healed, and was able to attend church that evening.
