In the conduct of my daily business...

From the April 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the conduct of my daily business activities it often becomes necessary for me to drive long distances, in many types of weather and over long periods of time. I am very grateful for the protection and guidance afforded me during my travels through the realization of the everpresence of divine Mind, which, through the understanding of Christian Science, guards, guides, and governs every thought, word, and deed.

Not having a radio in my car and traveling alone, I have often been asked if I do not get lonesome on the long trips. I am happy to say that such is not the case for one moment, because with what understanding I possess of Christian Science, I am constantly aware of divine companionship, and all my needs are met. The thought of time, distance, and weather has been revealed to me as false, material belief.

During my travels I have a wonderful opportunity to meditate and reason. Sometimes excerpts from the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, sometimes thoughts from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and from her other writings, and sometimes even single words become large with significance and meaning when considered scientifically.
