RECEPTIVITY

From the March 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

They did not listen when the Saviour brought
The light of Truth to clear their darkened thought.
He turned his face away from Chorazin.

But simple fishermen in Galilee,
With whom he walked and talked beside the sea,
Received the light he brought and followed him
To learn more of the truth that makes men free.

I would not be like those of Chorazin,
Closed in the cell of mortal sense and sin.
Help me, dear Lord, that I may henceforth be
Receptive, like the men of Galilee.
