Christ Jesus, in one of his discourses, said to those who believed on his teaching, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states in the Preface to her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii): "The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity." She adds: "Ignorance of God is no longer the stepping-stone to faith. The only guarantee of obedience is a right apprehension of Him whom to know aright is Life eternal. Though empires fall, 'the Lord shall reign forever.'"
There never has been a time when Christianly scientific thinking has been more needed than today; and there never has been a time in human history when so many have been prepared to think spiritually and scientifically. During nearly three quarters of a century thousands of people in many parts of the world have become students of the Christian Science textbook, and the spiritual facts about God, man, and the universe, which seemed locked within the pages of the Bible, are now unlocked, interpreted, and explained. With this spiritual enlightenment students are now able to think correctly and have learned to understand and to live Christ's Christianity in a larger measure than before.
