Much has been said recently about postwar planning. Discussions have been directed to the economic adjustments which will follow the long period of war activity, to reconversion, and to the broader phases of the peace plans which will succeed the cessation of hostilities.
Actually, in effective postwar planning, Christian Scientists should seek first to discern and observe God's perfect creation, which exists here and now. The real preparation for the months and years ahead lies in learning to understand and express God, and to manifest His qualities in one's daily thought and action.
Even a casual review of material history quickly discloses the often forgotten fact that human events and trends do not happen by accident, nor do they burst suddenly into completion. They are the direct result of accumulated individual steps. History unveils the weakness of human ways and shows the fallaciousness of any attempt to rely upon physical boundaries, possessions, or human opinion.
