Christian Science was presented to me several times over a number of years before I was ready to investigate its teachings. Not until I had suffered sufficiently from following the suggestions of mortal mind did I finally take up its study. I did not do this for physical healing, but because I had failed to find happiness. I shall always be grateful to the first practitioner I went to for help. For several years he gave me much of his valuable time in helping me to understand Christian Science. I had practically no understanding of God before beginning this study. Through my daily study of the Lesson-Sermon and attendance at the church services and lectures, the light finally dawned in my consciousness. I wish to express gratitude for the Lesson Sermons provided for us by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, which enable us systematically to study the Bible and her book, Science and Health.
Christian Science has completely changed my life. Whereas I previously sought happiness where it is not, I have now learned to love good and to turn to God for guidance. My health, happiness, contentment, peace of mind, and supply, I attribute entirely to Christian Science.
As I look back on my experience in Christian Science I can see that God had been leading me to this truth for many years, when I knew it not. As the Bible says, "I girded thee, though thou hast not known me." In 1926 I was employed by the government in my present position. In the office with me was an earnest student of Christian Science. On two different occasions I left this position, but both times I was brought back. The last time I left I went to a distant city and was gone six months, but returned to the position and to the Science friend who has been such an influence for good in my life. It was most unusual that the vacancy created by my leaving was not immediately filled. But it was my right place, and I know that I was not brought back just to the position, but to Christian Science, for this friend aided me in finally becoming a student of this wonderful religion.
