On page 254 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, appears the comforting statement, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path."
Are there some who, in reading this inspired truth, have failed to detect the keynote of power and healing therein? Are they perhaps entertaining the mistaken sense that patience indicates only a long and arduous wait for some uncertain reward in the distant future? If so, then little has been discerned to inspire hope and nerve present endeavor.
The exercise of patience should be neither arduous nor difficult. If such seems to be the case, would it not be well to analyze our concept of what constitutes true patience, and determine whether or not we really comprehend the spiritual intent of that essential quality?
