A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE READING ROOM

From the August 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God governs all who enter here
To rest in this calm, cheerful room.
No space is here for cares or fear,
Disease, or any shade of gloom.

Surely can they who enter find
The light of Truth is here, to free
From all the appetites that bind
And darken thought. Oh, may they see

The mists of error fade away.
Then, as they leave, shall with them go
The light of Love's clear, guiding ray,
Dispelling shades of earthborn woe.

So shall they feel that deep content,
The gift of Love's o'erflowing grace,
Forever present, pure, unspent.
God, govern all who leave this place.
