I have so often been helped by reading testimonies in our periodicals that it is my prayer that mine may lighten the way of some sincere seeker for Truth and bring a measure of that peace "which passeth all understanding" (Phil. 4:7).
Many years ago, having renounced the faith in which I had been reared, and having stopped attending church, I felt a desperate need for something, although religion was the farthest thing from my thought. However, one Sunday evening my mother and I wandered into a Christian Science church out of curiosity. When I read the inscription on the wall (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," it made a deep impression on me. I wondered if it were really true. Through the years I have found those words are true and provable. My every conceivable human need has been and is being met through the beneficent ministrations of Christian Science. The sincere study of this religion has changed my whole life, bringing me happiness in place of fear, ample supply of all things needful in place of lack, and, best of all, a growing understanding of God, of His allness, and the consequent nothingness of all that is unlike Him.
Two cases of asthma, which had reached an advanced stage, have been completely healed in my family. My mother is now active, whereas at one time she could scarcely walk a block. My little daughter has been healed of children's diseases when I have risen above my own fear and put her trustingly in God's care. I have been especially grateful for a recent healing of acute grief at the passing on of a dear friend. This false sense was completely eradicated, leaving only the joy of knowing, without a shadow of doubt, that there is no death, and an increased sense of God's boundless love for all His children.
