BUSINESS AND EMPLOYMENT

From the October 1945 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the near future, men now in military service will be seeking positions in business, and business in general will be searching for the right men to fill important positions. How are they to get together? How is the dual goal to be reached?

The Principle and rule of Christian Science, as applied in business matters, operates equally well for both employer and employee, for business in its true nature is never one-sided but always reciprocal. Business is an interchange of service among men. Christian Science teaches that we can come to know and understand God, Mind, as the real source of all true service—of all right activity—for God maintains, sustains, and supplies man with all good. To demonstrate this is to be about God's business, walking with Him and thereby working with Him.

No one can achieve any selfish ends in demonstrating this Christ Science in business. It blesses one only in so far as one clearly understands the fact that it blesses all. One must be willing to admit that because "God is no respecter of persons," His unerring guidance is available to both employer and employee.
