One who earnestly desired a more satisfying life experience called upon a Christian Science practitioner and asked to talk about God. The practitioner opened "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and read (p. 275), "The starting point of divine Science is that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, and that there is no other might nor Mind,—that God is Love, and therefore He is divine Principle." Heretofore the one seeking Truth had occasionally caught glimpses of divine goodness, but they had all too quickly been obscured by the demands of passing human events.
Now she saw that the time had come to take a positive stand. Wholeheartedly to accept God as All-in-all she must gain a higher and holier concept of what God really is. Acquaintance with God enables one to commune with omniscient Mind; it brings to one the clear consciousness of God's omnipresence and the comprehension in some degree of His divine nature. Friendship with God is accompanied by the revelation that God and Love are one. Peace, joy, and healing follow as natural effects of the recognition of this truth.
The truth continued to unfold to the student until soon she had strength to meet the day's requirements, and a condition of sound health became apparent. Expectancy of good displaced fear and anxiety in her thought. She found herself looking forward to each day's events as opportunities to prove that Christianity is a demonstrable Science. Happy, indeed, is the one who upon beginning each new day instantly directs his thoughts heavenward, conscious of man's eternal, spiritual sonship with God.
