Twenty-two years ago, when my eldest daughter was a baby, several baby specialists had been unable to heal her of an obstruction in the stomach. One day, when her temperature was very high and I was in despair, a woman whom I did not know came to call. Seeing my distress, she lovingly explained that a little child did not have to be sick. She offered to help me, and late in the afternoon the fever left the child. The woman returned the next day and told me something of how Christian Science heals. From that time we have never taken a drop of medicine in our family, which includes four children. Christian Science has been our only physician. We have experienced healings of crossed eyes, bow legs, a broken arm, typhus, impetigo, and two of us were healed of the need of wearing glasses, my healing taking place over twenty years ago. The healing of smoking and social drinking in our home brought a great sense of freedom, peace, and joy.
At the passing on of my mother and my husband a number of years ago. fear of rearing and supporting four young children was beautifully met when a practitioner said: "God will take care of them. He can cope with the situation. It is not your responsibility." And God has cared for them in every way. A full, joyous experience through school and college has been theirs. Health, protection, excellent positions, normal, happy companionships, and progress have been theirs.
