It is with a deep sense of gratitude for blessings received that I wish to make public acknowledgment of my appreciation of Christian Science.
Thirty-six years ago I was sick and unhappy because of an incurable disease which I had been told would, in a comparatively short length of time, end my days. I was plunged into the depths of despair, from which I was never free for an hour. Everything seemed to end there. I made no effort to try to be happy or to take my rightful place in the world of affairs; for I believed that my doom was sealed and that I was powerless to oppose the verdict.
Then the light came to me in the teachings of Christian Science. At first it was just a little ray, but it was Truth piercing the gloom and blackness of material so-called laws. Little by little it dawned upon my consciousness that I did not have to die; that God did not send death; that since it was not according to His law, the only law, I could live. The distressing symptoms disappeared one by one, strength took the place of weakness, and life took on a new meaning. The beauty and grandeur of this experience I shall never forget.
