The blessings that have come to me through the application of Christian Science are indeed numerous. Three years ago I had some sort of difficulty with my legs, which persisted for three months and made walking painful, for it was almost impossible to bend my legs. I never knew what doctors would have called it, and it did not matter to me, for as our Leader says on page 493 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Disease is an experience of so-called mortal mind." It became necessary for me to ask for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, because I was not able to overcome the difficulty myself, and it was necessary for me to go to business every day. I improved rapidly and was entirely healed. There has never been a return of this condition.
Through the application of Christian Science while traveling with various groups over a period of ten years, I have been protected from accidents and sickness, and also been guided in making right decisions.
During one of these tours I suffered for three days from blood poisoning of one finger, because I had not been alert enough to deny the laws voiced by another regarding this condition. I was so fearful lest anyone in the company should catch a glimpse of the finger that I stayed away from everyone as much as possible. I had help from a Christian Science practitioner, but did not seem to get any relief. I was, however, able to keep working all the time. Finally, I suddenly realized that my fear of what others would think was keeping me from accepting the healing truth that was so graciously being offered to me. I then declared that I most certainly could trust God as I had done so many times in the past, and His thoughts were all that mattered to me, since they alone were real and had power. With this I felt very much at ease and all fear left. That evening the finger opened up and started draining. The pain left and the healing was very rapid. A new nail was under the old one, which dropped off in a few days.
