I am deeply grateful to God for all the love and joy that has come into my life through some understanding of Christian Science.
My first healings, of chilblains and a lump on one of my hands, came through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I never knew when these healings occurred, but they were proofs to me that Christian Science is the truth.
I can never be grateful enough to the loving and consecrated practitioner who helped me gain the true idea of home. After I had established this idea in my own consciousness, and realized that "the devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible" (Science and Health, p. 199), a home of my own became possible in the most harmonious and remarkable way. Despite shortages due to war conditions, I was able to prove that man's home is always furnished with beautiful and grand ideas.
