APPROBATION

From the August 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Help me to glory in Thy praise
And not the praise of man,
To turn from worldly codes, to love
Thy precepts, live Thy plan.

Thus, for Thine approbation, Lord.
Committing all my ways,
I'll walk upheld by Principle,
Untouched by blame or praise,

And hope to hear Thy voice, when thirst
For praise has been appeased,
Say, "This is my beloved son,
In whom I am well pleased."

Then I shall glory in Thy praise,
Though men may not applaud;
Yes, glory as I find I am
The well-loved child of God.
