We may well ponder the inclusiveness of Mary Baker Eddy's provisions for the establishment and promulgation of the Christian Science church. She overlooked nothing in her desire to render the truth available to all mankind. A specific activity which illustrates her thoughtfulness and vision, in regard to young people especially, is the one outlined in Article XXIII, Section 8, of the Manual of The Mother Church: "Members in good standing with The Mother Church, who are members of the faculty, instructors, or students in any university or college, can form and conduct a Christian Science organization at such university or college, provided its rules so permit."
Seldom is so attractive an opportunity given for young people to learn at firsthand the workings of church organization. Experience in the many fields of service open to the members of a university Christian Science Organization, including the privilege of giving and hearing testimonies in a group of sympathetic, understanding contemporaries, has inestimable value as preparation for later service in branch churches or societies.
The regular meetings of college organizations usually include a lesson, made up of correlative readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, prepared and read by a student, and testimonies given by the members or guests, illustrating the efficacy of Christian Science. And what a blessing these testimonies are! The writer has found it much easier to take an examination when fortified by the experiences of other Christian Scientists who have successfully relied on the guidance of the one Mind, God; much easier to meet a physical problem when comforted by the reminder that other young people have met and mastered similar beliefs.
