"Christian Science gives a fearless wing and firm foundation," writes our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, on page 213 of "Miscellaneous Writings." That this is true in regard to airplane traveling has been proved by many students of Christian Science even under the exceptionally hazardous conditions of combat flying. Anyone adhering to the rules of this Science may gain such a clear realization of Life as God, harmonious and indestructible, that his whole human experience will become increasingly fearless. Certainly this freedom from fear which Christian Science confers is adequate to offset the world's frightened belief in the reality of catastrophe.
The Science of the Christ, Truth, which Jesus taught and demonstrated, and which has been restored to this age by Mrs. Eddy, reveals man's spiritual, indestructible nature. This truth operates as a law of annihilation to the illusion that man can fall, be injured, or be destroyed. It does not matter how impossible of harmonious outcome may seem the material condition; the law of God is ever present and sufficient to overcome all obstacles. The one thing needful on our part is the understanding conviction that God's omnipotence and omnipresence are a certain law of preservation to His idea, man.
Mortal mind, the supposititious opposite of divine Mind, God, claims to create man of matter and to govern him with material laws. It asserts that God knows evil but can or will do nothing about it; that God resides in a suppositional celestial area and is not where man is; and that man has a separate mind of his own, alienated in thought and action from his Maker.
