LEARN OF JOY

From the March 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Oh, learn the joyousness of prayer!
When trusting all our ways to God,
We see oppression fall away,
Enlightenment become a rod

To hold to, and a sturdy truth
That points the footsteps, one by one.
It claims for each the heritage
That now he is the Father's son.

Through prayer there is revealed to all
The glory that belongs to man,
The glory that reflection proves
Was his before the world began.

Oh, learn the joyousness of prayer,
And rise to heights before unknown,
To joyous living, hope that sings,
To claim the new, the old outgrown.
