In sincere gratitude for the protection afforded me in a car collision, I write this testimony. The experience enabled me to appreciate with increasing joy the absolute accuracy and dependability of the statements given to us in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
I was driving my car with one passenger in it when we became involved in a collision with a motorcyclist. He hit us forcibly, and my car crashed into the trunk of an oak tree,. In the short space of time between the impact with the cyclist and hitting the tree, it was clear to me that no real hurt could come to any one of the three of us. I do not think I have ever felt so absolutely conscious of being in the presence of God, or so content.
The car was smashed beyond repair and the chassis broken, but neither the wind screen nor any other glass in the car was so much as cracked, although the doors and sides of the car were bulged out. The cyclist, who freely volunteered that the accident was entirely his fault, escaped with a dislocated shoulder; the passenger was bruised and shaken, and I, to my surprise, had some rather severe cuts. The only house at hand at once opened its doors to us, and almost instantly I caught sight of a telephone. I called up a practitioner and asked her to take up work at once. I received immediate benefit.
