Speaking of divine Science, our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 558), "When you look it fairly in the face, you can heal by its means, and it has for you a light above the sun, for God 'is the light thereof.'" Christian Science has for me "a light above the sun," for it has indeed become the guiding star of my life.
I experienced much suffering from my early childhood, and Christian Science not only has brought me physical and mental liberation but also has opened up opportunities for usefulness.
There have been many physical healings, one of which I shall relate. During a very trying and sorrowful period of inharmony in my home I had become ill and finally lay entirely incapacitated. I had gone to the home of relatives who were Christian Scientists. Although I was tenderly cared for, the trouble continued with only spasmodic improvement even under Christian Science treatment.
