For over four years I have been studying Christian Science, the promised Comforter. I wish to express gratitude for the good it has brought into my experience.
During the last communion service I attended in a Protestant church, I prayed for an understanding of this ritual. Soon my prayer was answered. A copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was lovingly lent to me after I attended services in a local Christian Science Society at the invitation of a neighbor. Mrs. Eddy, speaking of Jesus, states on page 20, "But he established no ritualistic worship." And she says on page 32, "The true sense is spiritually lost, if the sacrament is confined to the use of bread and wine."
When I read on page 6 of the textbook, "'God is Love,'" my consciousness was flooded with light. In this statement my concept of God as capable of punishing His own vanished.
